Paypal is supported by e-bay, and many other services. As far as I remember, with Amazon, I can still pay straight through my credit card, so I don't see a particular reason to switch to something else that Amazon offers.

If Google Android becomes successful, it can become the next platform for mobile payment. Google has already submitted a few patents related to that.

But whether Android will be successful still remain questionable. I think Paypal was the pioneer, and will remain strong in the field.

2012 is so far in the future. I am sure all three companies will still be around.

The early-entry of Paypal does matter as users already deposit money in Paypal. Paypal already has the momentum to invite new users to deal with the existing users via the Paypal. In addition, there is penalty to withdraw money and switch to another service.

The Paypal payment is widely used by web masters. And Amazon is very reputable as a merchant. so, either one of them will do really well. I cannot say the same for Google.
