AI translation - when will replace the computers ALL the translators

Software to translate languages is progressing slowly. I think software to do good translations between the 10 most popular languages will happen in 30 years. If we could make translation into a game and have tournament competitions then progress would be faster.

I think a good tournament competition might be to have 20 competing programs translate 10 pages of text. Then 1,000 people on the internet answer 50 multiple choice questions based on reading 1 translation. The translation with most correct answers is the best translator. If this was a semiannual competition then in 10 years we would have excellent software translators.

Why was this prediction closed?

no.. the good translators are only for paid services, or agencies who can pay it, sotwares for 200 or 400 usd$ for example

Well .. we may already have this .. but never be commonly used .. or hidden by government yet.

Software technology didn't really go that fast as we anticipated in the last 10-20 years. Don't expect it to be any different in the next 10-20 years. I say this won't happen in the next 10 years.
