Indeed polygamy is on the same-line as the movement of legalizing same-sex marriage.

The law, I predict, will become unconstitutional due to its conflict with human-right (our golden-cow rule). Beyond human right, polygamy always involve destruction of family value, and woman and child abuse. That's how it draws attention of BC residents. In addition, accepting polygamy as legal marriage may trigger a new concern to our social welfare programs for protecting "any-form" of families.

According to Canadian Federal Law (C46-293), any form of polygamy is a criminal offense.

The Attorney General in British Columbia has expressed concerns over whether this prohibition is constitutional; an independent prosecutor in British Columbia recommended that Canadian courts be asked to rule on the constitutionality of the law against polygamy. A 2005 report by the Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre recommended that Canada decriminalize polygamy, stating: "Criminalization is not the most effective way of dealing with gender inequality in polygamous and plural union relationships. Furthermore, it may violate the constitutional rights of the parties involved."

I think it is always a bad terrorist strategy to attack the US. Giving the US government perfect excuse to go to war in the middle east. Making this war seems more about terrorism than about oil.
